Haulzeno Parts

A stock ledger for used parts: what is on hand, what it cost, which unit it went on.

Parts arrive in bulk from a supplier or come off a donor unit, sit in a bin at one of your yards, and leave on a work order or over the counter. Haulzeno Parts records every movement, so the quantity on hand, the average cost and the unit each part was fitted to are always known.

What's in Haulzeno Parts

Used-parts stock by location and bin: receive, strip from donor units, issue to work orders, sell over the counter.

  • 01

On hand, by yard and bin

Each part carries its location, bin and condition: new, used, rebuilt or for rebuild. Quantity on hand and average cost are worked out from its movements, not typed in.

  • 02

Receive or strip from a donor

Receive a bulk lot from a supplier with its quantity and cost per piece, or book in a part stripped from a donor unit in your own yard.

  • 03

    Issue to a work order

Issue a part to the work order preparing a unit. Its average cost posts to that unit's preparation cost automatically, so nobody enters it twice.

  • 04

    Return to stock

A part that was not fitted goes back into its bin, and the cost comes off the unit it was issued to. Parts cannot be returned from a unit that is already sold.

  • 05

    Counter sales

Sell parts over the counter to mechanics and walk-in buyers. The sale records the customer, the quantity and the price next to the cost it left stock at.

  • 06

    Adjustments, low stock and suppliers

Count differences and scrapped parts are adjusted with a written reason. Set a minimum quantity to flag low stock, and keep suppliers with the parts received from each one.

Where it sits

Part of one lifecycle, not a separate tool.

Haulzeno Parts shares units, customers and records with every other module you turn on.

How it fits

Parts works on the same records as Haulzeno Inventory and Haulzeno Service. A part stripped from a donor unit keeps a link to that unit. A part issued on a work order adds to the preparation cost of the unit being built, and that cost is what Haulzeno Sales locks when the unit is sold. Parts bought on a supplier bill in Haulzeno Finance are received into stock from the bill.

What changes

  • Stock value per yard read from the ledger, not a spreadsheet.
  • Parts fitted during preparation land in the unit cost without a second entry.
  • Every part that left a bin has a work order, a customer or a reason.
